Past Events

Volley for the Cure

The annual Volley for the Cure was once again a huge success! The stands of Lee University were "packed out in PINK!" This year's event was a two-day event with a luncheon the day before the volleyball game.  Volley for the Cure has become one of the largest fundraisers for the Foundation.   Not only do they "pack the stands in Pink" but they "Paint the Town Pink" !!!

Hoops for Hope

The girls' basketball teams from Red Bank and Baylor have put aside their school rivalry to join the battle against breast cancer.  The players dress in pink uniforms, play with pink basketballs and even the refs get into the action with their pink whistles.  Proceeds from the event went to the "Hoops for Hope" scholarship which was awarded to a Baylor student.

Survivor Birdhouse

Rock City Gardens is proud to present the brand new limited edition "Survivor Birdhouse", inspired by Chattanooga's own Scenic City Survivors.  This pink birdhouse is the first ever color recreation from the original red "See Rock City" birdhouse.   A portion of the birdhouse proceeds goes to benefit Scenic City Survivors and the Mary Ellen Locher Foundation®  in aiding their efforts for breast cancer awareness, as well as support for women diagnosed with breast cancer.  Through education, support and advocacy, they strive to ensure that women living with a breast cancer diagnosis are not alone on their journey.

Thunder Valley Mustang Club

For the past two years the Thunder Valley Mustang Club have held car shows around the area to not only show their love for Mustang automobiles but also their love for their community by supporting families impacted by breast cancer.

Applicant's Words:

"I have tried to adjust to being the mom of my household. Every morning I get my 6-year-old sister and 10- year- old brother ready for school to catch the bus. I have adjusted to putting others' needs before my own. This is one of the many valuable characteristics which my mother taught me."
