The MaryEllen Locher Foundation® scholarship
fund is designed to lift the financial and emotional burden faced by a
growing number of children in our country who have lost a parent to breast
cancer, or are children of breast cancer survivors.
The intent of these scholarships is to acknowledge the trauma these children
experienced through their parents' illness, honor the memory of a deceased
parent, and address the financial stress placed on these families due
to medical expenses and/or loss of income. It also serves to encourage
these children in creating the best future possible for themselves, and
to
encourage cancer risk education in young adult students.
The MaryEllen Locher Foundation® is a 501(c)3
non-profit organization. All gifts are tax deductible. Click

Applicant's Words:
|
|
 |
"I have tried to adjust to being the mom of my household. Every
morning I get my 6-year-old sister and 10- year- old brother
ready for school to catch the bus. I have adjusted to putting
others' needs before my own. This is one of the many valuable
characteristics which my mother taught me." |
